All 6th grade students at Buhl Middle School are taking a quarter of Robotics during the 2018 - 2019 school year. Recently, the students participated in a number of challenges in which they had to program their robots to complete a series of tasks. Tasks included "Touch The Can" - drive the correct distance to touch the can without knocking it over, and "Around the Can" - programming the robot to drive around the can without bumping it out of the circle or knocking it over. These activities require the students to use not only programming skills, but critical thinking and math skills to calculate differences in power between motors and specific angles for turning.
