Mrs. Coleman's 3rd grade students at Popplewell Elementary have been participating in some fun STEM projects in the classroom. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. On the first day of school, students were given toothpicks and gumdrops to build a bridge that would span six inches and hold 125 pennies. On another occasion, students had to research and fold a paper airplane that would fly the longest and straightest possible. First place went to Erick Rivera, second place to Nina Villegas and third place went to Daniel Rivera.
